Epson S70670 solvent printer now available

The Digital Imaging Lab’s new workstation, an Epson S70670 solvent inkjet printer is now available for workshops and bookings. Solvent printers use oil based inks to create durable prints more resilient to the elements, and are better suited for printing on media such as backlit, adhesive vinyl, and clear film. The new printer is much more complex than our 11880 printer, so users are required to attend a workshop for accreditation. Future workshops will be listed on the accreditation schedules page here on the DI blog.

For users who have taken the workshop and wish to book the printer, it can be found in the PIR under the resource category Location Digital Imaging > Epson Solvent Printers. The resource code is HEX-EPSON-S70670 and the key number is 101C. When booking the workstation and picking up the key please do not confuse the printer with the Epson 11880 workstation.

The printer is ready to be booked now but some media surfaces are still being setup and refined, and documentation for the workstation is nearly finished. If you have any questions about the new printer or its applications, please email scott.chandler@concordia.ca
