The Colex will be closed for part of July and August, and no Chromira printing will be possible during that time.
The dates:
Tuesday July 9: last day to print
Monday August 26: colex reopens
Please plan your printing projects accordingly – merci!
We are now stocking a new, smaller size of kraft tubes in the lab. They are 3×24″ and extremely strong, ideal for shipping small prints. Each tube is $3.25, and can be purchased by filling out the tube & glassine log sheet as usual.
The new tubes can be found next to the larger 42″ ones under the large white cutting table.
For questions related to the new Hexgram Server and the PIR system, we recommend two recently updated how-to-guides:
Hexagram Server: https://postimage.milieux.ca/lab/_files/server_guide.pdf
PIR (for booking workstatons): http://hexinfrastructure.concordia.ca/forms/PIRguide.pdf

When you open a new roll of inkjet paper, please do not put the empty box back with the full ones. This makes it difficult for me to assess our current paper stock. Instead, please put the empty box on top of the black bookcase near the door, under the “Empty Boxes” sign.

Thank you!
While using the adhesive vinyl paper on the Epson 11880, there are a few things to be mindful of.
Several of the Epson 11880 media costs have changed from our suppliers and the price lists (postimage.milieux.ca/lab/prices) have been updated to reflect this.
The price of 60″ adhesive vinyl has risen from $9 per linear foot to $10.50, and 54″ banner has risen to $9.00 per linear foot from $6. On the plus side ink has dropped in price to $0.45 per ml from $0.60, so everyone’s printing will now be cheaper.
The Colex will not be opened by the photography technicians after December 7th. Chromira users who have been trained to open the Colex may do so, but must notify the photography technicians. The Colex will be drained for the winter break on December 12th, making the 11th the final day for Chromira printing. It will reopen on Tuesday January 8th.
The construction in the Digital Imaging Lab is nearly finished. Tuesday November 20th has been penciled in as the day we will put the lab back together, so all workstations have been blocked off for this day. We expect the lab to be returned to normal by end of day Tuesday. If this schedule changes, an update will be posted here.
Hexagram offices will close on December 21st and re-open on January 7th. Portable equipment bookings for the week of December 17th can be extended until January 7th, but requests must be made before December 14th.
